triplets for the day

A couple of weeks ago we were at our TOG co-op that meets every Friday morning. Mrs. Mestas had come to pick up Ellie after class and let the boys play on the playground for a while. Well when Jason walked out side they all realized that James and Josiah had had on the same "I do all my own stunts" shirt. Well all three of them were all smiles after realizing this, saying that they were "triplets" for a day :-)

East Coast Tournament

This past week I was in Lynchburg, Virgina at Liberty University for a homeschool basketball tournament. My team didn't go, but Eric's team (Varsity Boys), which my dad coaches, went. I'm the score book keeper for the team so I was forced to go:-) Jason came as well and mom was supposed to come but came down with the flu the night before we were supposed to leave. It was pretty fun. The V boys ended up coming in 4th in the 4A division, 5A being the highest. So they came in 8th out of all the 20 teams in their tournament......not to bad:-) Well we were there from early Tuesday morning to late Friday night. They played two games on Tues. and one game a day for the rest of the week. Their games were usually at lunch time or late evening, which left the afternoons open. So one afternoon we went to the movie theater and saw "Horton Hears a Who" very cute:-) and another afternoon we went to the 1$ theater and saw National Treasure 2 (which we'd seen before) And the other afternoon we just hung out at the hotel. But after three hours of lying on the beds watching TV, Jason and I went out side and had some fun my my digital camera.

The Great Odysseus

This past Thursday our TOG co-op had our Unit celebration. The last nine weeks we have been learning about Ancient Greece, so the "Theme" was Ancient Greece! Everyone brought a Greek appetizer or dessert. I must say I'll stick with American food:-) My class 8-9th graders preformed a play about Odysseus and his many adventures. It was alot of fun preforming. We did use scripts (we only had one rehearsal:-) We all had many parts, some having to change characters in the middle of scene! I was Athena (The Goddess of War), Poseidon(God of the Sea), Polyphemus(a Cyclops), Suitor 1,3,&5(lol), and Eurykleia (A nurse). We had to cut out 4 scenes due to time, so I didn't get to be Calypso, A Siren , soldier 2 & 4, or Hermes :-(
It was fun running out in the hallway searching through piles of stuff searching for your next costume/props when you were already supposed to be out on stage :-) Over all it was just a fun night :-)

The next morning for class we went to a local Greek restaurant for lunch. I wasn't that adventurous and got the Chicken Gyro, but I guess I was more adventurous then Mickie who got a cheeseburger:-) Mom and Mrs. Tracy got sampler plates and were trying to get us to eat some of it:-(. I stuck with the Pita bread:-)

basketball tournament

We spent this past weekend in Greensboro for a homeschool basketball tournament. It was the NCHEAC State tournament. 4 Lighthouse teams played in it. The middle school girls (which my dad coaches), Varsity Girls, JV Girls (My team), and the Varsity Boys (Eric's team and my dad coaches). Dad, Eric and I drove up (about 1 1/2 hours) on Friday morning, and Mom and Jason drove up on Saturday morning. We had alot of fun. The MS girls got 3rd place, both varsity teams got 4th place and my team won state:-) There was only one other JV girls team and we beat them very easily: 49-16 :-) I got 2 baskets, and my first block shot! lol over all it was a really fun weekend, especially hanging out with friends at the hotel and gyms. My team went to Steak and Shake on the way home to Celebrate our Victory!
